locs can be started with two strand Twists with as little as 4 inches of hair. And it is often the go to method for longer hair or highly textured by starting locs with two strand twists will give the locs a solid internal foundation and create thicker locs, depending on the size of the two- strand twists.

 

What to expect:

In the beginning, your twists may unravel at the ends, Locs that are started with two strand twists can use palm rolling or comb twisting for maintenance.

 

However, please be aware that as they begin to mature and start to loc the twists will swell up and get a lot thicker. More often than not, people fail to take that factor into consideration and are unhappy with their locs after a few months because of the size change

How to care for two strand twists starter locs

 

Once you  have the two strand twists starter locs installed, you must take care of them so they remain healthy and loc faster.

Protect the locs when sleeping. Cover your hair with a satin scarf or satin bonnet when you sleep as a protective measure. ( yes we do provide it )  This helps with retaining moisture and avoiding any fizz from occurring. Convening the twist also minimizes the unraveling.

Be mindful when washing your locs.  It is required to wait 3 weeks before washing your locs,This gives your hair time to mature and locs together.  Generally, avoid washing your starter locs daily. Although two strand twists locs can endure a lot of manipulation, daily wash eliminates the natural oils your produces. The natural oils hair produces is essential for your hair to thrive. When you wash the locs ensure you use alcohol free shampoo. Using regular shampoo could leave product residue on your hair.
